 How IKS (Internet Key
Sharing) or ICS(Internet Card Sharing)
Really works
Hi all, i would like to take us on a ride on
what is really meant by the above words
or how the concept really works. A lot of
people are ignorant of what IKS or ICS is,
all they know or say is that, 'Im watching
DSTV or Paytv for free' whereas they
really have no comprehension of what
technology is involved.
Im moved on passionate ground to
educate people on what is meant by IKS
or ICS. In order not to bore people, i may
decide to break it into parts/series for
better comprehension. Here we go
From WIKI
Card sharing, also known as control word
sharing, is a method of allowing multiple
clients or digital television receivers to
access a subscription television network
with only one valid subscription card. This
is achieved by electronically sharing a
part of the legitimate conditional access
smart card's output data, enabling all
recipients to gain simultaneous access to
scrambled DVB streams, held on the
encrypted television network.
Typically, a legitimate smart card is
attached to a host digital television
receiver, which is equipped with software
to share the decrypted 64-bit "control
word" key over a computer network, such
as the Internet. Once a client receives this
key, they can decrypt the encrypted
content as though they were using their
own subscription card.
Now let me break it down.
presently, we have various Iks decoders
like qsat, zorro, Azsky, Xman, Tlink etc
that are from china and being
manufactured by different companies.
What do they do? Now, they'll get a
premium dstv subcription card and pay
for 1 year, or 6 months for full view.
Same applies to Sky digital in the uk,
Aljazeera, Canalsat etc.
Now let me limit it to DSTV. Once these
various companies have paid for the
subcription using dstv smark card, they
will insert this card to a particular host
reciever either in China or right here in
Nigeria, Which is what is called SERVER.
This Server has the capability to share the
decrypted 64-bit "control word" key over
a computer network, such as the Internet.
Now we buy their programmed dongles
and receivers, once we insert our sim
card with internet access or use ethernet
port of wlan or wifi, this dongles or
receivers via the internet receives data
from the main server that has the valid
dstv subscription and then it begins to
decrpt or unscramble channels for you to
watch ur super sport etc. So without
internet, ur dongle or receiver cannot get
signal and sometimes, when the internet
signal is not strong, it starts to freeze.
Let me summarise this series.
The people from china usually pay
subcription to DSTV or Canalsal or Mytv
using the smart card and it is from this
smart card that they share the subcription
to all of you at home to watch using
technology.
Watch our for the second part on why the
server goes down, on why ur dongle stops
working, on why ur decoder does not
unscramble channels etc
I will call this part one
